Representatives of YUG Visited Customs Headquarters Building Exhibition Gallery

Thirty three representatives from the Youth Uniformed Groups under the Youth Ambassador Scheme and 3 other uniformed groups namely, Red Cross Youth Units, Auxiliary Medical Services and Association of Hong Kong Flag-guards, invited by the Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau of the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department visited the Customs Headquarters Building Exhibition Gallery on 28 February 2013. The theme of the gallery is “The History and Development of Hong Kong Customs in the past 100 years” displaying work areas, development and important roles of the department in the past 100 years.

The visit aimed to enhance understanding in Customs’ works and its vision, and to reinforce the relationship amongst parties in striking the internet infringing activities. Mr. Tam Yiu-keung, the Assistant Commissioner (Intelligence and Investigation), led other Customs officials to exchange experiences in protecting and promoting the Intellectual Property Rights at the Customs & Excise Service Senior Officers’ Mess.

After the visit, the representatives revealed that it was an excellent opportunity to increase the knowledge on the protection of the Intellectual Property Rights and to foster closer co-operation amongst parties in future.
