YAS 4-panel Comics Workshop

To strengthen the understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among youngsters, the Customs and Excise Department and Intellectual Property Rights Protection Alliance (IPRPA) co-organized a 4-panel Comics Workshop for the Youth Ambassadors at the Customs Headquarters Buildings and arranged a visit to the Jade Dynasty Group limited between 20 and 21 of August 2015.

With the assistance of Hong Kong Comics & Animation Federations Limited, a member of IPRPA, a well-known artist of the comics industry Ms. Stella So was invited to deliver a lecture to the Youth Ambassadors. The speaker covered various topics on comic creation and shared her valuable experiences with the Youth Ambassadors. She engaged the Youth Ambassadors in creating a 4-panel comic to cultivate their creativity. To have a better understanding on the operation of the industry and the hardship of working out the creative works, the Youth Ambassadors visited a famous local Comics Company, the Jade Dynasty Group, on the next day.

Through the workshop and visit, the Youth Ambassadors have understood that IPR protection is vital to the sustainability of the creative industry after participating in the comics workshop.
