The Customs and Excise Department launched a self-developed animated story here to heighten youngsters' awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection. It was done in the wake of the increasing trend of youngsters participating in IPR infringing activities in Hong Kong.
The story aims at discouraging youngsters from participating in infringing activities when engaging in summer jobs, e.g. selling counterfeit goods at auction sites on the Internet or selling pirated optical discs. It also reminds them to refrain from taking part in illegal peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing activities on the Internet.
